Mrs. Linda Lea Gillon Powell of Villa Rica passed away Sunday, January 25, 2014 at her residence following an extended illness.  She was born in Atlanta, Georgia on Tuesday, September 21, 1948 and was the daughter of the late John Gillon Sr., and the late Ann Wells Gillon Gilroy.

Mrs. Powell was a retired Special Education Teacher from Lithia Springs High School and was a talented artist. Sne enjoyed drawing, painting, and playing the piano. Mrs. Powell was also a member of both the Douglas and Cobb County Art Guilds and sold her paintings internationally. Above all else, she loved her family and had a wonderful sense of humor.

Survivors include her son, James Powell of Smyrna; daughter Lea Anne Powell of Houston, Texas; One brother and sister-in-law, John Jr. and Eanne Gillon of Winston Salem, North Carolina; Two sisters and one son-in-law, Susan and John Crafts of Richmond, Virginia and Maryann Harrison of Alabama; One grandson Bejamin Powell of Winston-Salem, North Carolina and a number of other relatives.
