In Memory

Kathleen Evelyn Rainwater (Knight -Cook) VIEW PROFILE

Kathy battled breast cancer for a very long time and passed away in hospice on December 26, 2000.  She and ex-husband, Tommy Knight (Class of '64) had two children, Karrie and Alex.

Karrie stays active in keeping her mother's memory alive and is actually the spitting image of her Mom as are her two daughters with husband Richard Johnson. Alex and Karrie remain close and their Dad, Tommy, lives in Senoia, GA.

I had so much fun with Kathy at the 20 year reunion in '86 ... We danced all night long! She was one of the most fun loving people ever... so full of life ... with a smile that was contagious. Miss her.

Very sweet comment, Bonnie!  I loved her spirit and strangely enough, she lived not far from me in Smyrna and I frequently saw her.  Her daughter, Karrie, was in the same Campbell High School of Smyrna class as my daughter, Deidre.  Karrie and Deidre have always been close friends and remain close.  I see Karrie frequently when she and Richard bring the girls down here to Disney. Karrie would love to hear from you on Facebook......Karrie Knight Johnson.  She loves hearing from her mother's friends.

One of my dearest friends!   We had SOOO many great times together.  We pretty much stayed on her Dad's uh-oh list, but he was always so sweet and funny that we didn't mind being on restriction as long as he was around.  I miss her every time I think of high school days.   Beautiful person, inside and out!

Kathy was one of those individuals who walked in the room and immediately made everyone smile. She had an infectious glow about her. Ironically, several years after we graduated she lived in the same apartment complex as my sister, Linet('63). They became good friends and their children played together.  Kathy will always be in our hearts and surely missed.

Kathy was one of the first people I met when we moved to SW Atlanta.  She was my back-yard neighbor.  We played together then.  I remember one year I got a perm and she got a very short hair-cut.  I don't think either of us liked our dos very much.  She laughed and called mine the "eggbeater" and hers the "stringbean".  Of course, Allen was always there to agree or scold.  I know he loved Kathy so much.  She is another one that enjoyed life and should be celebrating with us on the 23rd.
